December 3 - the International day of combating pesticides

International day of combating pesticides is annually celebrated on December 3. On that day in 1984, on the pesticides plant in Bhopal (India) there was a catastrophe in which about 2,000 people died.

On this day environmentalists in the whole world organize actions and protests reminding about accumulation in the environment of great amount of harmful chemicals, in particular pesticides which get accumulated in the environment and in organisms of people and animals causing serious consequences.
